Making God's Love Real

Mission/Vision/Values

Our Mission (as stated by Jesus)

  • Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

  • But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8.

Our Vision

Making God's Love Real:
Roseland United Methodist Church is a community of
people committed to Jesus Christ,
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, united in the love of God,
and called to make that love real to others.

Our Core Values

  • Christ centered:
    Focused on the life, words, way and Spirit of Jesus proclaimed in the New Testament;

  • Warm hearted:
    A joyful, loving, laughing congregation which experiences the grace of God in Jesus Christ in personal and positive ways;

  • Open minded:
    A place where people search, think, question and honestly express the growing experience of their faith in an accepting and affirming atmosphere;

  • Biblically rooted:
    Encouraging spiritually alive, faithful study of the Bible, using tools of devotion and study which are appropriate to a diverse body of people;

  • Mission directed:
    Continue to develop and grow a strong sense of mission which has been part of our identity, both in terms of mission to our neighbors and mission to the world;

  • Community connected:
    Engage, welcome, and accept all we meet, with respect, dignity, and love, as modeled by Christ.

Our Beliefs

     If you love theology or want an in-depth description of our beliefs, we strongly encourage you to check out the link below.
With that said...
     Although we are a United Methodist Church, we have members from many other backgrounds: Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, struggling with their faith, agnostic, atheist, and so on.... We welcome everyone just as they are.
     We strive to create an authentic worship space and community where anyone can come and feel comfortable about their religious beliefs and their personal relationship with God. Members of Roseland UMC are not afraid to share in seasons of struggles, questions, doubts, and joy. We believe life is messy and our faith should match the reality of a messy life. Messy life filled with conflict is part of being human and we use that as an opportunity to stay united in Christ and help each other out through community.
     But make no mistake about it, Roseland UMC passionately seeks to worship Christ and strives to make a change in the world by imitating Christ.
