Making God's Love Real

New to RUMC?

Here are some of the questions other visitors have asked about Roseland Church. If your question isn't one of them, please feel free to contact the church office.

When are your Worship Services?

We have a 9:00 a.m. Praise Service that is lead by the Pathfinder Praise Band.  It is a more modern style of worship.  If you enjoy a more classic style of worship, our second service is at 11:10 a.m. and is a traditional service with a chancel choir.

Where do I park?

There are a number of parking lots available for the church. The two most visible ones are directly to the east of the Sanctuary and across the street on Roseland Road. A parking lot is also available behind the Thrift Shop and Fellowship Hall. Handicap parking for the sanctuary is located in the alley directly behind the sanctuary. Since this alley is one way only, enter from 129th Court next to the Thrift Shop. We ask that you do not park along any of the streets in the community.

Where are the entrances to the Church Sanctuary?

The Sanctuary entrance closest to a parking lot is on 129th Place. There are two other access doors: through the Fellowship Hall and Education Building and from Roseland Road.

Where is the Nursery?

Our nursery is located in the Education Building between the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary and is available from 8:45AM-12:30PM on Sundays. Our nursery staff care for infants through age three. Parents are assigned a two digit ID code when their child is dropped off. If your ID code is displayed on the digital monitor above the left side of the altar anytime during the service, please check with the nursery immediately.

What should I wear?

At Roseland United Methodist Church we have a very casual environment and this is reflected in our worship services. There is no official or unofficial dress code — feel free to come as you are. If you are comfortable wearing a suit and tie, you will not stand out in the crowd, but if you worship the Lord best in blue jeans, you will not be alone. What is important in worship is experiencing God’s presence, not the clothes you wear.

Where is Sunday School?

Sunday School for all ages is in the Education Building between the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary at 10:00 a.m. In addition, we have children's church during both worship services for elementary school age children. Please check our weekly worship bulletin for adult classes being offered during the 10 am hour.

Who works in the Nursery and Sunday School?

Our caring nursery attendant is employed by the church, is a Florida licenced child care provider, and has updated infant and child CPR training. She along with all paid staff and any volunteer that regularly works with children has had a background check and training provided by the United Methodist Church. We believe implementing a Child Protection Policy and adopting procedures to protect our children recognizes that our Christian faith calls us to offer both hospitality and protection to children. God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from abuse. You can be assured they will be loved and cared for while you worship.

What about bringing children to the Worship service?

Children are always welcome in worship! Your child may enjoy a "children's bulletin", which is available in either Greeting area to the Sanctuary and has various coloring pages and crayons for your child to use. Please ask an usher to locate one. Children may participate in the children's moment during both worship services. It involves coming to the front of the sanctuary and discussing the Bible point at a child's level.

I am not a United Methodist.  What are the Christian beliefs of your church?

For a comprehensive look at our beliefs, please check here or the website of the United Methodist Church at www.umc.org.

Since I am not a United Methodist, will I be able to participate in the Sacrament of Holy Communion?

We have an "Open Table" approach to Holy Communion. A person does not have to be a United Methodist or a member of this particular church. We invite all who are honestly seeking the presence of Christ in their lives and desire to receive God's grace with an intention to lead a transformed life in God's world.

I am a Catholic.  Can I participate in the worship of your church?

Absolutely! We welcome all persons to worship, participate in the sacraments and in all activities of the church, regardless of religious affiliation, race, color or nationality. The United Methodist Church motto is "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors." Many Catholics have found a church home at Roseland, sometimes through marriage to a non-Catholic, sometimes because they have not been active in a church. We do not encourage anyone to leave a church in which they are active, but we welcome seekers who need a spiritual home with other Christians. As United Methodists we understand ourselves to be part of a "catholic" church, meaning the universal totality of Christendom.
